Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria Opens in Uptown Plaza

Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria has officially opened the doors to its first out-of-Chicago pizzeria; and it’s not a moment too soon for the company’s deep dish pizza-loving faithful, who have been waiting for the opening since the news was first announced nearly ten months ago. The new location has approximately 6,800 square feet of inside space and 1,500 square feet of outdoor patio space, with carry-out, delivery and catering services also available. Heard Museum Grand Gallery Crosswalk

The Heard Museum officially broke ground to create a “grand gallery” from two smaller existing spaces, connecting formerly separate upstairs areas by way of a second-floor crosswalk. The two galleries will be combined to become the 7,000-square-foot Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Gallery, which will include energy-efficient, state-of-the-art technology, including digital communications platforms and interactive exhibit capabilities. Chris Orkild Named Treasurer of Shemer Art Center

The Board of Directors of the Shemer Art Center and Museum Association, Inc., (SACAMA), have elected Chris Orkild, a vice president and senior investment strategist at Wells Fargo, to serve as board member and treasurer of the non-profit organization. Orkild has spent the past 20 years in the financial industry, currently working for The Private Bank of Wells Fargo, where he specializes in managing diverse and complex portfolios of stocks, bonds and other specialty assets.
