Luck was on my side when I became a mother of four boys. Yes, that’s right: I am surrounded by male energy in my house (four boys, my husband and even the dog is a boy). I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

For any young man, it is essential to have a great male influence in his life. Our boys are very blessed to have such an incredible role model for a father. My husband always says, “I’m raising men.” With that, he leads by example on being healthy, strong, independent and respectful, all while reminding them to stay humble, kind, affectionate and happy.

His overall message to them is “Be the right guy, and everything else will fall into place.” Eric, Happy Father’s Day! You are an exceptional husband and father to our boys. We love you!

This month is our “Gents” issue, where we get to celebrate the gentlemen of our community. The best part of this is sharing great stories about the influential and exemplary men who surround us.

First, our cover story features Frankie Muniz sharing the details of his colorful career and how he parlayed that into becoming a successful local business owner. You will hear stories from the founders of The Vig, whose vision was “to create a place that felt comfortable and welcoming … something unpretentious but still upscale,” which is now a very popular and well-known local hangout.

Other features include an inspiring story about the opening of New Life Juice and Wellness, a healthy, all-natural juice bar option with a twist; as well as training and fitness advice from the founder of CrossFit PHX, Mycal Anders, who brings more than 20 years of experience and expertise to the health and fitness community.

We hope you enjoy this issue as much as we do. Gentlemen, here’s to you!

Be grateful, be kind and live well,

Tammy Fellows
