It’s getting to be the time of year where we begin to think about the newest and best looks for the fall season. We begin to envision the perfect ensemble for all the upcoming special events and social gatherings this year. In that spirit, we hope you enjoy the September fashion issue of Paradise Valley Lifestyle.

On the cover, you may recognize Oscar De las salas, who is involved with many local organizations and charities, and an architect who holds a master’s in interior architectural design. Oscar is well-known and respected in the fashion world for his bold and dramatic fashion sense. He also has a history in fashion design.

You will also read about Scylvia-Elvira Danese, a one-woman powerhouse of all things fashion and sewing who is also known locally as the “Fairy Godmother of Fashion.” You will get a glimpse at some of her beautiful handmade gowns just in time for event season. The dress in my photo above was hand-painted and created by this Fairy Godmother!

Don’t forget the importance of creating the perfect look with makeup. Hear from beauty expert and owner of the well-known Pucci Salon Debora Capaldi on tips and tricks for makeup trends this season (hair and makeup in my photo above was by Pucci Salon).

You will also learn details about the much-anticipated upcoming Phoenix Fashion Week, showcasing all the season’s hottest looks on the runway.

Last, you will get a sneak peek into what is being considered the “Rodeo Drive” of the Valley, The Palmeraie. This is a master-planned community spanning 122 acres with shopping and dining destinations. The retail and restaurant component will include more than 60 luxury and specialty boutiques, while the dining destinations will be led by best-in-class, celebrated local and international chefs—something to look forward to!

Whether or not you consider yourself a fashionista, your personal style is a reflection of your personality, lifestyle and taste. Always look for ways to put your best foot forward.

Before we part ways, I would like to give a warm welcome to our new editor, Michelle Glicksman, who brings extensive experience in our community as an established writer and leader in her industry. For any news you would like to share with Paradise Valley Lifestyle, please direct those inquiries to Michelle at

Be grateful, be kind and live well,
