Burlington Stores Makes Large Donation to Arizona Helping Hands

Arizona Helping Hands, a locally based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing basic essential needs to boys and girls in foster care throughout Arizona, recently received a generous donation from Burlington Stores, the national off-price retailer, of more than 18,000 units of new children’s underwear. This donation was made possible through the retailers’ Burlington Gives Back program, hosted in partnership with Delivering Good, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing people impacted by poverty and tragedy with new merchandise through a network of local agency partners to offer hope, dignity and self-esteem to at-risk children, families and individuals. Through this program, Burlington has donated thousands of pallets of new products to local agencies within the communities where it has stores.

Burlington Gives Back is a program dedicated to donating new merchandise to local nonprofit organizations in communities surrounding its stores. Delivering Good, as the program’s official national nonprofit partner, identifies local nonprofit organizations in the retailer’s store communities to receive such merchandise. To learn more, visit

Help for Arizona Animal Welfare League

Every week, volunteers and staff from the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) drive across the state to take in dozens of homeless animals from overcrowded and underfunded rural shelters.

These trips, sometimes lasting more than 10 hours a day, help the shelter save hundreds of lives a year. In June, the rural rescue program lost one of its lifelines when one of AAWL’s two transport vans was hit and damaged in a rollover accident.

No animals were in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and the operator suffered minor injuries, but the loss significantly reduced AAWL’s ability to provide life-saving resources and pet rescues in the far reaches of Arizona.

With the help of a matching donation from AAWL Board Chair Amrita Sahasrabudhe, the shelter is trying to raise $27,000 to replace the truck. Members of the community can donate at

SunLife Organics plans to open its first store outside of California at Scottsdale Fashion Square this fall. SunLife Organics exists for three simple reasons—to love, heal and inspire. The juice-bar-meets-café concept for SunLife Organics was born from the journey to sobriety for founder and owner Khalil Rafati, who credits juicing and superfoods with healing his body and mind, as well as jump-starting a passion for making natural ingredients and remedies as delicious and appealing as possible. The store will be located in the shopping center’s newly redeveloped luxury wing.
