We want to take a minute to say thank you. Thank you to all the inspiring people of our community. It never ceases to amaze me how many truly great people and organizations we have right here in our community. We are consistently blown away by all of the endless philanthropic efforts, charity and nonprofit organizations that exist and continue to grow in our community. We are constantly reminded of this through the new people we meet and the stories we hear and get to share every day. I am humbled and honored to be part of such a community that is always finding more ways to give back.
In my experience, the biggest gift in life is gratitude—“the quality of being thankful: readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.” The gift is always in the give—when you see a need you fill a need.
My favorite book of all time is The Giving Tree. This book is filled with the message to give selflessly and to never stop giving back even when you feel there is nothing left to give. Remember to always ask the question, “How can I help you?” It may surprise you just how much you can help even if you feel you are helpless in any given situation. We all have something to give. This simple act of kindness will bring you joy! What a gift!
As you explore the inspiring stories throughout our November “Thankful” issue, we encourage you can find what you are most grateful for. For me, it’s my family and friends. Words can’t explain how incredibly lucky I feel to be surrounded by such inspiring, loving, kind, thoughtful and supportive people in my life. I feel truly blessed by those around me.
As you gather with your families and friends this season, remind yourself how lucky you are to be with those you love and cherish so deeply.
Be grateful, be kind and live well,
